Sister M. Colette Kwieczka
Celebrates 75 Years of Religious Life
This year Sr. M Colette Kwieczka celebrates her 75 years of religious life. Sister was born on March 17, 1936, in Chicago. She entered religious life on September 8, 1950, and professed her vows on August 12, 1954. Sister went to Madonna High School in Chicago and was taught by the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago who inspired her to join religious life.
Sister received her Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Loyola University and her Master of Arts in Elementary Education degree from Indiana University. Sister M. Colette's ministry and dedication to education continued by serving at Blessed Sacrament, Gary, Indiana (1971 - 1987). She also served at the following parishes in the Archdiocese of Chicago:

St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr (1953 - 1955)

Five Holy Martyrs (1955 - 1969)

St. Pancratius (1969 - 1971 and 1987 - 2002)
Later, Sr. M. Colette resided with the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago at St. Anthony Convent in Crown Point, Indiana, and served there as the local minister, treasurer, and secretary from 2002 to 2009. Sr. Colette returned to Our Lady of Victory Convent in Lemont, Illinois, and has served as the local minister since 2009.
