FRANCISCAN SISTERS OF CHICAGO

On Friday, May 8, the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago honored their 2026 Jubilarians.  This year there were two Sisters celebrating anniversaries:  Sr. M. Colette Kwieczka (75 years of religious life) and Sr. Kathleen Melia (70 years of religious life). The Sisters celebrated a Jubilarian Mass in Sacred Heart Chapel at Our Lady of Victory Convent in Lemont. The Main Celebrant was Rev. Robert Lucas, CM, and Concelebrant was Rev. Kenneth Baker. The music director was Christina Grinius. During the Mass, Sr. M. Bernadette Bajuscik, General Minister of the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago, led the recitation of the devotional renewal of vows with the Jubilarian Sisters. It was a beautiful ceremony highlighted by the choir singing the song Magnifcat (Canticle of Mary) while roses were placed in a vase to symbolize their years of loving service as religious. After Mass, a celebratory luncheon was held in Marian Hall. Congratulations to this year’s Jubilarians!
