Our 70th Jubilarians

Sister M. Praesentia Grzybowski

Sister M. Praesentia entered our Congregation on August 15, 1934 from St. John Cantius Parish in East Chicago, IN. From 1937 through the present Sister has been providing domestic services at facilities in Illinois, Nebraska, Ohio and Alabama. She was a CNA at St. Joseph Home in Chicago, IL from 1938 until 1940. Sister was the local secretary at St. Elizabeth Day Care, Chicago, IL from 1950 until 1955. She also served as Sacristan at Boys Town, Nebraska from 1962 until 1978 and St. Joseph Home since 2000.


Sister M. Petronia Budzinski

On August 22, 1934 Sister M Petronia entered our Congregation from St. Pancratius Parish, Chicago, IL. From 1938 until 1987 Sister taught at elementary schools in Indiana and Illinois. She was a local treasurer, assistant local superior, local superior, and local secretary at convents in Illinois and Indiana. Sister came to the Motherhouse in Lemont in 1987 where she served as local superior for two terms. Since 1993 Sister has been a marketing assistant at Franciscan Village.


Sister M. Andrea Puchalski

Formerly of St. Casimir Parish, Cleveland, OH Sister M. Andrea entered our Congregation on August 25, 1934. From 1939 until 1961 Sister performed many domestic duties at various facilities in Nebraska, Illinois and South Dakota. She ministered as a nurse at hospitals and nursing homes in Illinois, Indiana, South Dakota and Ohio. Sister was a local assistant superior and local treasurer at various convents in South Dakota, Indiana and Ohio. From 1983 until 1987 she ministered at Mount Alverna Home, Parma, Oh in pastoral care, social services and Mission Effectiveness. Since 1987 she has been ministering at St. Joseph Home, Chicago, IL performing various duties including Eucharistic minister, lector and resident visitor.


Sister Leona Watroba

Sister Leona entered our Congregation on September 8, 1934 from St. Mary Parish in Hammond, IN. Sister served as a sacristan from 1936 until 1937 and 1940 until 1947 in Illinois and Pennsylvania. She taught at St. Casimir in Johnstown, Pennsylvania from 1937 until 1940. From 1947 until 1971 she was an x-ray technician trainee and x-ray technician in South Dakota. She served as a nurse from 1971 to 1972 in Indiana. Sister performed many duties at St. Joseph Home, Chicago, IL from 1972 until 1983 when she moved to the Motherhouse, Lemont, IL where she was the director of housekeeping from 1983 until 1986 and local treasurer from 1986 until 1997. In 1997 Sister retired, yet continues to work in the library.


Sister M. Deofilia Piaskowy

On October 4, 1934 Sister M. Deofilia entered our Congregation from St. Florian Parish in Chicago, IL. Sister taught at schools in Illinois and Indiana, from 1937 until 1987. She also served as organist from 1946 until 1987 at parishes in Illinois and Indiana. Sister served as local secretary at Sacred Heart, Gary, IN, St. Mary, Hammond, IN and Blessed Sacrament, Gary, IN during the years of 1953 through 1987. From 1970 until 1972 she was the local superior at Blessed Sacrament. Since 1987 Sister has been residing at the Motherhouse in Lemont, IL doing part-time reception duties and acting as the director of the gift shop.


Our 50th Jubilarian

Sister Theresa Mary Obremski

Formerly of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Chicago, IL Sister Theresa entered our Congregation on February 2, 1954. Sister taught at schools in Illinois from 1955 until 1976. She was the local secretary at St. Louise de Marillac, LaGrange Park, IL from 1972 until 1973 and sacristan from 1973 until 1974. Sister was the liturgical services coordinator at Madonna High School from 1974 until 1976. From 1976 until 1991 she was the CCD Coordinator at St. Genevieve, Chicago, IL. Sister served as a missionary in Ometepec, Guerrero, Mexico from 1991 until 1996 where she worked as catechist, visited the sick and led monthly retreats with seminarians. From 1996 until the present Sister has been serving as Director of Religious Education at various schools in Illinois.
