Novitiate

The Novitiate is two years of continuing formation wherein you come to know and live the Franciscan life and values more deeply. The first year is canonical and holds the central place in the formative life of a religious. It includes:

• Study and meditation on Holy Scripture
• The doctrinal and spiritual formation vital for the development of a spiritual life of union with God
• An understanding of the principles of Franciscan religious life
• An initiation into the communal life and spirituality proper to our Congregation

In the second year, the novice may take part in the works and activities of the congregation to help her integrate her life of prayer with service. She may pursue academic or professional preparation but always with emphasis on continuing spiritual formation.
